Why do a reset?
A VOCOM device can be paired with only one computer at a time.
To pair the device with a different computer, the VOCOM device first needs to be reset. When the reset is completed, the pairing is lost.
You can perform a reset by:
- Having the VOCOM device connected over USB.
- Having the VOCOM device connected over Wi-Fi and paired.
- Pressing and holding the physical reset button on the VOCOM device itself.
Reset VOCOM using the physical reset button
1. Connect the VOCOM device to a vehicle and make sure that the device is powered. For more information, see VOCOM Tough indicator lights or VOCOM Mini indicator lights.
2. Press and hold the top button of the device.
For VOCOM Mini, you will first hear 3 short beeps (meaning the device is in Wi-Fi Direct/Android mode) and then a loud and long beep sound. So, it is important to keep the reset button pressed until you hear the long and loud single beep.
For VOCOM Tough, press and hold the top button for about 10 seconds (you will not hear any sounds).
3. Let go of the top button. The device will now restart with the default configuration applied.
Reset VOCOM using VOCOM Configurator
1. Open VOCOM Configurator.
2. In the menu, go to Advanced > Reset Configuration.
3. Click on RESET to start resetting the device configuration.
4. Wait until the device is reset and you see a pop-up message at the bottom of the window prompting you to restart the device. Click on Restart device for the reset to take effect.
5. Wait until the device is back online to continue using it.
