To diagnose and repair a vehicle, a diagnostic application must be able to communicate with the vehicle. Here is where VOCOM (Vehicle Off-board Communicator) comes in.
VOCOM translates vehicle language to computer language and vice versa. This way, the diagnostic application can identify faults, check for software updates, perform calibrations, and carry out many other tasks needed to get the vehicle back on the road.
